While many people like the new interface of Windows 11, others prefer the old look and feel of Windows 10, or at least some of the features that are missing in the newer operating system.

Fortunately, there are a number of applications available to help you customise the user experience of Windows 11 to your liking, while removing unwanted bloatware from the operating system. Below are three applications that can help you customize Windows 11 to your needs.

ThisisWindows11

The Windows 11 is essentially a redesign of the Windows 10, so it has the same bloatware problem that OEM and Microsoft pre-installed unwanted applications have. Like Windows 10, Windows 11 allows users to manually remove applications from Settings or Control Panel.

But if you want to quickly delete all bloatware from your system, you can try a new open source application called ThisIsWin11.

With this app, you can customize the advanced and basic features of the operating system and disable Windows 11 features, such as Microsoft Teams integration in the taskbar.

The app currently has the following features:

  • Default settings: allows you to quickly configure the default settings of the Windows 11.
  • PumpedApp: You can control and optimise the Windows 11 system by modifying PowerThrottling.
  • Bloatware: This feature allows you to remove pre-installed Windows 11 applications. Quickly install applications using packages.
  • PowerClicks: this allows you to automate Windows tasks using PowerShell scripts.

The tool is available free of charge at Githubon.

ElevenClock

With ElevenClock, you can personalise your Windows 11 Tray Clock to be as stylish as you like, customise it with different colours and even bring the "seconds" back to the time displayed.

With ElevenClock, you can display the clock in full screen, hide the clock when you click on it, display the task manager shortcut in the clock's local menu, disable the notification badge, etc.

The tool is available free of charge at Githubon.

Start11

Start11 has recently been released to help users customize the Start menu of Windows 11 and even restore the classic interface. The program is compatible with Windows 11 and Windows 10 and can be used to recreate the user interface of previous operating systems.

With Start11, you can either get a Start menu similar to Windows 11 on Windows 10, or the Start menu of Windows 10 on Windows 11. However, Start11 also has a number of other features that allow you to customize your Start menu, such as:

  • You can move the Start menu back to the left side of the screen.
  • Dark mode for a stylish look
  • You can choose a style and theme for the Start menu. For example, you can return to the familiar Windows 7 style Start.
  • Customise the tray by adding texture or adjusting the transparency.

The tool is currently in beta, priced at $4.99 (a free trial is available). More customisation is expected in the future.
