A Microsoft in yesterday's blog post details the latest updates and improvements to Windows 11 Insider Preview Build. The tech giant is introducing several changes that Microsoft expects will improve both user experience and functionality.

Copilot

One significant update is the access to Copilot. Initially a feature within Windows, Copilot is now transformed into a standalone application pinned to the tray. This change will allow users to interact with Copilot in the same way as any traditional application, allowing window resizing, moving and clicking. This change stems from user feedback received during the preview phase, which highlighted the need for a more versatile application.

With this update, Microsoft withdraws the WIN + C key command previously used to activate Copilot. Instead, devices with the new dedicated Copilot key will use this key to open the application. For existing devices, users can now use the WIN + (the number position of Copilot on the taskbar) key command to access Copilot, ensuring a smooth transition and continued ease of use.

Emoji 15.1

Microsoft is the Emoji 15.1 will also add emoji to your library. This update brings several new emoji, including a horizontal and vertical shaking head, a phoenix, a lime, a brown mushroom and a broken chain. In addition, Unicode's decision to revert family combinations to symbol-like shapes has been dropped. Windows retains its current style, which depicts people in family combinations.

In addition, the update also includes control options for several emoji. Users can now choose between right-facing and the original left-facing orientation for emoji representing people walking, kneeling, using a cane, running, and sitting in manual and motorized wheelchairs. This improvement provides greater flexibility and customisation in the use of emojis.

The Settings menu also changes

A new feature introduced in the Settings menu is the Connected devices page, located under Settings > Accounts. This page allows users to manage the PCs and Xbox consoles associated with their Microsoft account.

However, this feature is only available for Windows 11 Home and Pro editions and users must log in with their Microsoft account. This addition is intended to simplify device management, making it more convenient for users to keep track of their devices.
